Procedure documentation Adding Translation Clients  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You must define translation clients in your translation system before productive translation starts.

The client in which you translate depends on the translation system in question. Translation usually takes place in client 000. If you need to translate client-specific objects, you must define the client containing these objects as the translation client. If translation-relevant, client-specific objects are contained in several clients, you can define several clients as translation clients. You can generate a separate worklist for each translation client, or one worklist for all clients.

Caution

It is possible for individual objects, such as core objects from SAP Basis, to be used by different projects translated in different translation clients. In cases such as these, where the object lists to be translated in different translation clients are not completely disjoint, objects could jump from one translation worklist to another in the different translation clients. You can prevent this from happening by ensuring that worklists are always generated in the same order. For example, the worklist for translation client 500 could always be generated before the worklist in translation client 505.

Translation clients cannot be deleted after you have set them up.

Prerequisites

·        Your translator profile includes the authorization LACL with the value 01.

·        You have defined the target language in your translation system. See Setting Up the Target Language.

Procedure

You can define translation languages for a client in the system, or add a translation language to an existing translation client. The first option applies to when you set up a translation system for the first time. The second option applies to when a translation language is subsequently added to a client.

       4.      In the Clients dialog box, enter the target languages for translation in the system.

       5.      If you want to specify the client as the translation client for all of the target languages defined in the system, choose Insert All Languages.

       6.      Save.

       7.      If you want to create more translation clients, repeat these steps.

       8.      Repeat these steps for all of the clients in which texts need translating.
