Procedure documentation Creating a Stamp and Making Settings  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Different settings for stamps guarantee that the exact information necessary for the remaining process steps is stamped on the original application file.

Prerequisites

You have the authorization to create and change stamps.

See: Stamping an Original Application File

Starting Stamps

As the Stamp function is a redlining function, you need to make the settings for stamping from the redlining function bar.

  1. Display the original application file with the integrated viewer of the standard SAP system.
  2. In the viewer function bar choose Tools ® Redlining.
  3. If you have not activated a layer, and you want to create a new layer, assign a name.

The redlining function bar is displayed.

  4. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Stamp).

You see the Select Stamp from Favorites dialog box. On the following tab page you create a stamp, and determine the content of the stamp:

Organizing Favorites

To start the stamp, edit the following two datasets:

Favorites

This dataset contains the list of favorites. You can only use stamps that are in this favorites list.

The list contains the stamp text and stamp category for each stamp. You can add or remove stamps on the list.

Choose Add. You get the dialog window All Available Stamps.

Select the stamp that you want to add. Choose Continue. The system copies your selected stamps to the favorites list.

Note

To create, change, or delete a stamp, choose the tab page Administration.

Select the stamp that you want to remove from the favorites list.

Choose Remove. Confirm the system query. The system removes the stamp from the favorites list.

Datasets for Stamp Settings

You can determine the layout for the stamp in the following datasets: Extras, Size, Background, and Font. If you create a stamp on the Administration tab page, you already make a few of the settings that are used here, such as Background and Font.

Copy Initial Setting from the Definition of a Stamp

Stamping Additional Data

You can also integrate additional data from the document info record into the stamp. Or you can stamp the document number or the status of the document info record onto the original application file.

This option to extend can be implemented using the Business Add-In DOCUMENT_ECL01 (Exit for EAI Viewer in DMS). Using this BAdI it is possible to select both the additional data and the document. For example, you can control it in such a way to make the document number and status be stamped only on document part 001.

Carry Out Administration

Maintain Stamp and Stamp Category on the Administration tab page.

If you create a stamp, enter the content (Stamp Text), the Stamp Category, as well as default values for the Layout.
For example, you decide whether the user name, the date, and the time is to be stamped.

Some settings for the stamp also serve as Default Values. They can be copied when you set the stamp using the Default Values function (such as background, font, and date). You can change all default values before using the stamp.

Note

You then need to transfer the stamps that you create here into the favorites list.

The stamp category serves as an organizational criterion for the application area. For example, stamps for the engineering area contain different information to stamps for the production or plant maintenance areas. The stamp category is an important criterion for authorization assignment.

Enter a short text if you create a stamp category.

Result

You can transfer the stamp into the favorites list on the Favorites tab page, and then stamp an original application file.
