Use

The Planning Workbench enables you to process the worklists in an application (such as Online Planning) with a high degree of convenience. You can display additional information for the various items in the worklist.

The main functions in the Planning Workbench are available on the application toolbar of the worklist. Alternatively, you can call up all the functions from the context menu (by clicking on the right mouse button while the cursor is on an object in the worklist).

Features

Tree Display

The worklist is displayed as a tree structure. The first level contains the applications in which you work (for example, Online Planning or Internet Services). The level immediately below this contains the application-specific worklist, arranged by organizational unit.

The standard configuration of the Online Planning worklist contains the following levels:

  1. Site
  1. Purchasing Organization
  1. Purchasing Group
  1. Order date
  1. Vendor
  1. ...

In this case, you would select the site you want to process and the relevant purchasing organization, and so on.

Display Options

You can change how the worklist is displayed via the settings for the application. For example, you can:

Displaying Additional Data

The processing status of each entry is displayed as a stop light next to the entry. Initially, the stop light is red. When you start the application to process the entry, any entries that have already been processed are displayed in yellow. As soon as you save the entry you are processing, the stop light changes to green. By double-clicking on the stop light, you can change the status manually.

Note

Entries only maintain their status while you are processing the worklist in the current session. When you call up the transaction again, all the stop lights are reset to red.

If you configure the worklist to display additional data (the General Settings tab), symbols for the various types of information are displayed next to the entries in the worklist. The following table explains which types of additional data are available:

Application Toolbar for the Worklist Area

The screen area of the worklist contains a separate application toolbar which you can use to process the worklist. You have the following options:

This executes the function for the entry you have selected in the particular application (for example, order processing in Online Planning)

If you want to change the settings, you can go from the worklist directly to the initial screen of the Planning Workbench. You can also save your settings as a start variant (see Activities). The variant is assigned personally to you and is always used when you call up the Planning Workbench.

In addition to the sort methods contained in the standard system, you can integrate your own methods for sorting the worklist in Online Planning using user exit EXIT_SAPLWOD2_001.

The worklist is refreshed in line with its actual size.
If the Hide processed worklist indicator is set on the settings screen (the General Settings tab), all the objects in the worklist with the status green are removed from the display.

Activities

To define a start variant on the settings screen, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter the required settings and save them as a variant (for example, as "my variant").
