Use

If the "Total rows are locked" indicator is set in the detailed view of the layout in the network, the values of the total rows for this layout are locked in manual planning and cannot be changed. In this kind of layout, totals input cannot be switched on and totals locking cannot be removed. Data cells are not affected, that is, you can switch locking on and off for data cells.

The "Total rows are locked" indicator can only be set for layouts with one or several simple key columns, not for layouts with a complex key column.

For more information, see Locking Cells and Input-Ready Totals.

Example

In layout 1 you plan on a rough level, for example, the sales for a distribution channel. In layout 2 you plan on a more detailed level, for example, the sales for all stores in the distribution channel.

When you do this the standard values from plan 1 or layout 1 should not be able to be changed, that is the total sales of the distribution channel should remain constant. In layout 2, only the relative proportions of the sales from the individual stores or their contribution to the total sales can be changed.

In this case, you can set the "Total rows are locked" indicator for layout 2 so that the sales value cannot be changed.
