If you generate an outbound delivery for a sales order or a warehouse order containing SLS sub-items, the relevant sub-items are generated in the delivery. The goods are picked and the goods issue is posted for the main item in every case.

For SLS sub-items to be generated in the delivery, the control table for the Delivery application has to be maintained in the SLS profile (in Customizing for Merchandise Distribution). The relevant combination of event/delivery type (for example, Create/Outbound delivery) must be assigned a follow-up action appropriate to the SLS.

• If you generate a delivery item for a warehouse order, the system determines the item category dynamically. In the case of a delivery that references a sales order, the item category is taken from the sales order.

• In a delivery (for example, an outbound delivery from the vendor perspective or an inbound delivery from the customer perspective), the main item and the associated sub-items always make up a delivery group. If you change the quantity in the main item, the system automatically adjusts the individual sub-item quantities proportionally on the basis of the whole delivery group. If you would rather change the quantities in a different way (i.e. not proportionally), you have to make the change manually and make sure that the main item and the sub-items are consistent.

• The sub-items in the delivery are not relevant for picking. Therefore, they do not appear in the picking list, nor are they contained in Warehouse Management transfer orders.
