Merchandise Category/Assortment Grade Check

Use

This procedure checks:

Whether the article's merchandise category is assigned to the assortment and, if so,

Whether the article's assortment grade is less than or equal to the assortment grade of the merchandise category assigned to the assortment.

Example

You want to stock a new CD-player, "CD-SuperSound." CD-players are assigned to merchandise category "Audio Equipment." A profile module indicates which assortment grades are available, and which of your stores carry which assortment grades for audio equipment, as shown below.

CD-players are assigned to assortment grade 3. Although all stores may carry audio equipment, only stores with assortment grades 3 and 4 carry CD players. Therefore, the system will only permit you to assign "CD-SuperSound" to stores types 3 and 4.
