IDocs have on the one hand links to each other, such as the link between inbound and outbound IDOcs in an ALE scenario. On the other hand, IDocs are also linked to objects in the applications, for example with a document which was created per ALE. Both links are evaluated by the DRB.

There is no access to the DRB based on IDocs. You can only find IDocs using objects which are linked with them.

To display archived IDocs (archiving object IDOC) you must have an active and structured archive information structure for field catalog SAP_IDOC_001. There are two options for determining links from and to IDocs:

• The object links have not yet been deleted
  In this case there are no further prerequisites. The links are evaluated by the DRB even if the related IDocs and business objects have been archived.

• The object links have been deleted
  In this case you need an active and structured archive information structure for the field catalog SAP_DRB_IDOC_001. Another prerequisite is that the links have also been archived. In addition, you must have activated the field Archive Links Also in the selection screen for the write program for archiving object IDOC.
