Use

Key figure formulae are formulae defined at key figure level for a planning step and are therefore independent of the planning layout. This is not the case for formula columns (for more information, see Defining Planning Layouts). Due to this, key figure formulae can be used in different planning layouts.

In contrast to formulae in planning layouts, key figure formulae can be used to:

Key figure formulae are grouped into formula groups.

Features

Formula groups are defined within planning steps (in Basic Settings) and are assigned to a planning layout (in Customizing for manual planning). One formula group can be assigned to a single planning layout. You can reuse a formula group in additional planning layouts for the same planning step.

If an assignment has been made, the formulae from the formula group are used automatically to calculate the appropriate key figures during the planning session.

When calculating data, you can use all key figures and additional key figures for a planning step. In particular, Additional Key Figures can be the results field for running calculations. The additional key figure is not supplied with data by a user exist (customer enhancement).

You can determine when data is calculated as follows:

The following formulae categories can be used:

The calculation sequence for mathematical formulae and values from previous periods can be freely defined for each individual calculation period.

Examples

Example 1:

When you enter the data entry screen, you want to calculate key figure "Initial Purchasing Quota in %". This key figure is calculated using key figure "Budget Already Released" and "Additional Purchases" using the formula: Budge already released * 100 / additional purchases.

Proceed as follows:

Example 2:

You want to calculate the initial stock at purchasing prices. Initial stock is calculated based on the closing stock from the previous period.

Proceed as follows:

Example 3:

You want to calculate the range of coverage based on the initial stock at purchasing price and the business volume at purchasing price.

Proceed as follows:
