Functions Not Supported in SAP Retail

SAP Retail completely supports the special function for handing generic articles in MM and SD only, not in the other standard areas.

SAP Retail does not support the following R/3 functions:

Variant configuration with variants subject to inventory management

Variants for generic articles cannot be used in variant configuration.

Long-term planning

Specific data for long-term planning cannot be maintained for articles.

Co-product manufacturing

Specific data for co-product manufacturing (for example, apportionment structure for costs) cannot be created for articles.

Foreign Trade

Export licenses and customer tariff preferences cannot be created for articles.

Production resources/tools

Specific data for production resources/tools cannot be maintained for articles.
Recommendation: Use materials instead of articles.

Material Ledger

Enhancement in the article master and in material ledger are required (sales values must be updated in the material ledger, enhancement of data structures and updating).

Valuation levels above the site (company code) are not possible

To do this, extensive enhancements in the article master and other areas may be required.

Inflation handling for South America

Special handling tool for South American countries that require a revaluation method when a particular inflation rate has been exceeded. To do this, article valuation data must be updated in a table for this purpose (Inflations-MBEW, same key as MBEW). This type of data is not yet integrated in the article master.
