Proceed as follows to replace a work center in all or a large number of routings:

  1. From the routings menu, select the menu options Extras ® Mass replace ® Work centers.
  2. You reach the Replace Work Center: Selection screen.

  3. Maintain the plant and the work center that you want to replace as well as the new plant and new work center. If you enter a change number, the start date of the validity period for the changes is taken from that change number, and the changes are logged.
  4. If you specify a key date, the system only selects operations valid on this date. If you do not enter a key date, the system displays all operations in which the work center is used.

Enter the task list types for which you want to generate a where-used list. Note that you cannot make a generic entry in the type from fields.

You can narrow down the search by entering the following data:

    – status

    – usage

    – routing plant

    – group

    – material number

    – material short text

  5. Select an overview variant. To select an overview variant, select the menu options Settings ® Object overview or press the function key Object overview.
  6. You reach the Enter overview variant dialog box. Enter the desired overview variant and press Continue.

  7. You can maintain default values for the new work center before you replace the old work center with it. (see Maintaining Default Values (Mass Replace))
  8. Select the menu options Goto ® Execute.
  9. You see a list of all routings and routing objects in which the work center is used.
If you want to replace the work centers using a batch input session, select the menu options Settings
® Change replace mode. Usually, the system replaces online. You can also use the menu option Change replace mode to control whether certain screens are displayed for you to maintain during replacement. (see Controlling Mass Replacement Processing)

  10. If necessary, change the data in the routings/routing objects before you replace the work centers. (see Displaying and Changing Data for Selected Routings)
  11. Select all routings and routing objects in which you want to replace a work center with a new one.
To select many objects at the same time, select the menu options Edit
® Selections and the desired object (for example, header, sequence or operation).
  12. Select the menu options Edit ® Replace work center.

The system replaces the old work center in the selected headers, sequences and operations with the new work center.

Note

If the work center cannot be replaced in all selected objects, you receive a system message. The objects in which it has not been replaced are marked by the system. Try to replace the work center again.
