Use

Use, for example, to distribute a new site master record that you created using data copied from an existing customer or vendor master record.

Activities

When you create new site master records, you can save time by copying data from existing customer or vendor master records by proceeding as follows:

  1. In Customizing for site profiles, define which data from existing application objects is copied to new site master records you create.
  2. Create new site master records with assignments to existing application objects.

Example

In Customizing, you define that data, including addresses, is copied from existing customer master records to new site master records. You create a new site master record and assign it to an existing customer master record. You do not need to enter an address for the site, as the address of the assigned customer master is copied to it. If you enter an address for the site, this address will be overwritten by the address of the assigned customer master.

You distribute site master records that you have created with assignments to existing customer masters or vendor masters using the following combination:

  1. Transport the IMG.
  2. Distribute the customer or vendor master data by ALE.
