Use

If the retail price of an article changes in the conditions stored in the SAP system, the value of the stock at retail must be recalculated if inventory is managed at retail for the store. This revaluation at retail can be carried out automatically in the SAP system if the articles in question are managed in stock on a quantity and value basis. However, if stock is managed on a value-only basis, it is necessary to count the stock of the article in the store.

This function supports the counting of stocks in the store. The system then uses the count data to calculate the new retail price of the value-only article used for inventory management.

If you hold promotions, but do not valuate standard and promotional stocks separately, you can define (in Customizing) whether a revaluation is to take place. If you define that a revaluation is to take place, you can also use this program to enter stocks at the beginning and end of the promotion, if required.

Features

You can request the count list from the system for a particular date, and process this for either all merchandise categories, or individual merchandise categories. "Processing" involves printing out the count list on a local printer, counting the stock in the store, and entering and posting the count data.

The program allows you to process a count list that contains all articles that are managed in stock on a value-only basis, that have a new retail price on a particular date, and that have not yet be revaluated at retail.

You can select a count list for:

In this case, the count should take place in the morning, before the start of business, as otherwise articles that have already been sold are not counted, and are therefore not revaluated.

In this case, the count should take place in the evening, after the close of business, as otherwise articles that were sold on the current day at the old retail price may be counted and revaluated.

You can process the count list for a date in the past if the count for this date has to be entered subsequently. The count list for a date in the future can be processed on a weekend, if, for example the count for a Monday is carried out on Saturday.

You request the count list on the initial screen of the new program. On the left-hand side of the next screen, the system displays an overview of all merchandise categories to which the articles in the requested count list belong. In this overview, you can choose whether you want to process the complete count list (that is, all articles, regardless of merchandise category), or a count list for a particular merchandise category. On the right-hand side of the screen, the system displays the items of the requested count list. Here, you can enter and post the count quantity for each item. You can also print the count list on a local printer in the store.

It is not possible to carry out local markdowns without changing the retail price in the conditions in the SAP system, or carry out stock counts for articles that are managed in stock on a quantity and value basis and for which stock counting is defined.
