Usage

Shipment documents are generally delivered in the framework of two scenarios:

  1. The sender transfers a partly or completely planned shipment (transport request) to the forwarding agent.
  2. The sender or the forwarding agent informs the customer regarding an expected shipment (shipment notification).

Prerequisites

You must create a message type with which the shipment document can be sent via EDI. The output type SEDI is available for this, which you use, or, if necessary, can copy and then change. The transmission medium must be set on 6 (EDI).

The following condition components must be maintained:

Activities

  1. Scenario:The sender transfers a partly or completely planned shipment (transport request) to the forwarding agent.

    You enter a shipment
document, which is either partly, or completely planned (depending on whether you take over the detailed scheduling of the shipment yourself, or the forwarding agent).

Depending on the time setting for output determination, EDI shipping is triggered immediately during posting (time 4) or, for example, during an explicit requirement (time 3).
  2. Scenario: The sender or the forwarding agent informs the customer regarding an expected shipment (shipment notification).

You have access to a completely planned shipment document (which you either generated and planned yourself, or you have received from the forwarding agent, who planned it).

Depending on the time setting for output determination, EDI shipping is triggered immediately during posting (time 4) or, for example, during an explicit requirement (time 3).
