Use
This unit describes the functions that are available for generating promotions and allocation tables in planning. As the methods used to generate promotions and allocation tables using interfaces are very similar, this unit summarizes the relevant functions. NB: The terms 'promotion' and 'allocation table' are both referred to as documents in this unit. They do not, however, represent documents in the SAP System.
Prerequisites
For information about the prerequisites, see
Interfaces to Non-MAP Applications.Features
You can use planning interfaces from the planning layout and from within Excel (for more information, see
Excel Integration in Planning).Select the planning layout that is to be used for creating the planning step.
Specify the dates on which you want to create your promotions or allocation tables by selecting the relevant line or column. A document is generated every time the function is run. You can mark the following:
If necessary, you can simulate how your system calls the promotions interface. No documents are generated when this is done. If you run a simulations, a log is generated. It informs you about possible errors and warnings that may occur if you run the action in an active system. You can, alternatively, create the promotion as a background job.
A log is created for every document that is generated. Immediately after you have created a document, you can display the last document that was created. This can, however, only be done if you are still in the planning session in which the document was generated.
A log also exists for all promotions and for all allocation tables that were created in MAP in the past. The logs can be displayed via the network graphic. The logs provide information to answer the following questions:
The logs containing information about all documents that have been created provide users with a user-friendly environment in which they can select certain documents that they are interested in by double-clicking on certain scenarios.
By going to the detailed message view, users get to promotion maintenance or allocation table maintenance, where they can make the necessary enhancements to the document they have selected.
Note:
Changes to documents that no longer relate to the original planning, do not influence planning data. Entries are only made in the log if a document is, in fact, deleted. Use enhancement WISPL004 if you want your log to also record any changes that are made to documents.
Promotions and allocation tables are created in MAP using the minimum of data (for example, article, quantity, site, organizational unit) and can be processed by a second associate, who enters additional data, thereby triggering follow-on processes, such as price activation.
Promotions that were generated using an interface receive an additional entry in the promotion header (under Status) which informs the user that the promotion in question was generated in MAP. You can go to the planning layout used to generate the promotion by selecting Environment, in promotion maintenance.
Allocation tables that were generated using an interface receive an additional entry in the allocation table header which informs the user that the promotion in question was generated in MAP.
