Procedure

To create a new article in article planning or to insert an existing article, proceed as follows:

  1. In the manual planning overview screen, select the article that you want to use as a reference for the planning hierarchy data.
  2. To insert an existing article, choose Extras ® Article Planning ® Insert Article. A dialog box appears. Enter the article number of the article you want to insert.

To create a new article, choose Extras ® Article Planning ® New Article. Enter the article number manually or have it issued automatically:

When you create a new article, enter the following information:

Also enter the merchandise category if this is not apparent from the planning context.

  1. If a classification system characteristic is also assigned to the layout, you can carry out planned characteristic value assignments for the article you are inserting.

Confirm your entries. The article is created or inserted.

  1. If you carried out a planned characteristic value assignment when creating a new article, you can decide whether this characteristic value assignment is also be copied to the article master data.

To copy the characteristic value assignment to the article master data at a later date, update the classification at this later point in time.

Result

When you create a new article, it is created in the master data, however, only in the basic data view.

Caution

The article is not inserted into the planning hierarchy until it is posted.

In relation to the selections of the planning layout, the sub-hierarchy of the new article in the planning hierarchy corresponds to the sub-hierarchy of the reference article as regards the planning hierarchy up to the planned characteristic value assignments.

Once the article has been inserted it can be planned directly.

As standard, the plan data for the hierarchy reference is already filled in within the layout for the new article.
