Use

This business process allows you to use the POS interface to process all the master data changes that have been made in the POS systems in your stores.

Changes made to master data in POS systems are not usually updated automatically in the master data central system. Reasons for this may be to ensure consistent master data, or to ensure that master data can only be changed in the head office. Changes made in the store are therefore sent by workflow to the employee responsible at head office.

Examples of a master data change are:

This relates to a change in the standard sales price. However, this change is of an informative nature. Therefore, there is also no link to revaluation at retail.

Caution

If you wish to process a retail price change relevant to valuation, inbound processing must be carried out using Structure linkRevalution at Retail.

Procedure

  1. Master data is changed outside SAP Retail in a POS system or in a Distributed Retailing System (DRS).
  2. The data is made available at POS interface - inbound in the central system (SAP Retail).
  3. The relevant employees are informed by workflow.

For information on master data processing (store), see the inbound information in the POS interface section of the Implementation Guide (IMG).
