Creating Variants in Characteristic Planning

Use

You can automatically generate article variants for a specified (generic) article and the specified characteristic values. You can only create variants in a planning layout in which the article also appears in the layout header.

Procedure

Select the characteristic values for which the article variants are to be generated.

Choose Extras ® Characteristic Planning ® Create variants. A dialog box appears displaying the number of variants to be generated.

Confirm your entries. The variants are created.

Result

If the values of the relevant classification system characteristic have not yet been transferred to the characteristic value assignment of the generic article, this now takes place.

All combinations of the variant-creating characteristics are created:

The selected values are transferred for the characteristic for which you are planning.
For the other variant-creating characteristics, the valuations on the generic article are used.

Article variants are generated for these combinations.

Note

Note that when you create variants, it has no effect on the values of other variant-creating characteristics.
