You use the POS interface - outbound to supply POS systems in stores with current data at regular intervals. The following types of data are transferred for this:

• Master data (for example, article data and prices)

• Movement data (for example, shipping notifications)

The system formats the data in question in IDoc format for the POS interface – outbound, taking account of the current store assortment, and transfers this to the store systems using ALE technology. This is usually done in the evening and covers a specific past period (usually a few days).

You need this component if you used electronic POS systems in retailing, for example.

In order to use the POS interface - outbound, you must also use the Retail article master. It is also worthwhile using the POS interface – inbound component.

• The system automatically distributes data at periodic intervals to the POS systems in the stores.

• The system formats data specifically for individual stores, which means each store only receives data that is relevant to that store.

• You can use several servers that simultaneously format data, which increases performance.
