Use
If the sales price of an article is determined by external factors, this is known as price fixing. For example, in some countries prices for cigarettes and pharmaceuticals are regulated by the government and therefore may not differ among retailers. If these factors are binding, the price is fixed; if these factors are merely recommended, a suggested retail price is used.
Articles with price fixing are given special treatment in the sales price calculation function.
Prerequisites
In order to create a fixed price for an article, you must set the Price fixing flag in the sales view of the relevant article's master data.
The Price fixing flag can have the following settings:
Price fixing flag |
This means: |
blank |
No price fixing (default value) |
1 |
Recommended sales price (retail price) |
2 |
Fixed price |
Price fixing is by distribution chain, since prices for a given article may be fixed in one country but not in another.
Integration
Sales price revaluation can be switched off for fixed price articles.
The price fixing status for an article is displayed in the assortment list.
Features
When you start a sales price calculation for those articles and organizational levels for which price fixing has been defined, entries are made in the sales price calculation log for these pricing items. These pricing items are highlighted in the pricing table.
For articles with suggested retail prices, the sales price can be calculated in the usual way (as it is for articles without price fixing). For articles with fixed prices, however, the sales fields are not ready for input. This means that the sales price cannot be changed.
In order to adjust a fixed price (in line with changes to legal requirements, for example), you need to temporarily reset the Price fixing flag in the article master data. Proceed as follows:
Sales prices for fixed-price articles cannot be changed for promotions. You can, however, change the sales prices of articles with suggested retail prices during a promotion.
You may be required by law to sell the remaining stock at the old price. If this is the case, only new deliveries may be sold at the new price.
