Use

The document category controls the conversion of store order IDocs into follow-on documents. If a sourcing check is to be carried out for the document category, the system determines a source of supply, and if it finds an internal source of supply, it also performs further checks on the goods, to ensure that they are available, for example.

Features

The following are examples of document categories without a sourcing check:

The system checks availability for an internal source of supply according to ATP logic. If the available quantity is insufficient, the system searches for an external source of supply (the availability check cannot be carried out for an external source). The availability check is only carried out for a single internal source of supply.

The system checks availability for an internal source of supply according to ATP logic. If an insufficient quantity is available, the system searches in the master data for the ordering party for the next internal source of supply (according to the order of priority), and carries out the availability check again. If none of the internal sources of supply has sufficient quantities available, the system searches for an external source of supply.

Example

This document category is suitable in the following situation, for example:

Store R151 usually orders article 50004799 from distribution center R001, which is 50 km away from the store. When the distribution center does not have sufficient stock on hand, the article is procured from a second distribution center (R002) in the company, which is over 100 km away from store R151.

If neither of these distribution centers can supply the article, it is procured from the external vendor "Burleys", which is located in the neighboring town.

The system first checks for internal sources of supply with a maximum delivery quantity that is the same or larger than the quantity required. If the system finds more than one potential source of supply, it checks the order of priority. If no internal source can be found, the system then searches for an external source.

Example

This document category is suitable in the following situation, for example:

Store R151 procures article 50004799 from three different sources, depending on how much is required.
