Use

Request notifications allow sites to inform the head office of their requested quantities. Reply can either be optional or compulsory.

Features

The site can but does not have to notify head office of any requirement. If no reply is sent, the head office decides how much the site will receive.

The site must notify head office of the quantity required. If it fails to do this, it receives a reminder from head office urging a reply. If still no reply is sent, the head office decides how much the site will receive.

The allocation table also contains dates for each site by which a reply can or must be sent. This request date can be entered as a default value in the allocation table header and is then valid for all items. It can be changed at item or site level. The notification category defines whether a reply is optional or compulsory.

A site can reply in two ways:

The sites have direct access to R/3 either via a terminal or SAP Retail Store. The SAP Retail Store offers a web-based user interface geared towards the exact requirements of stores. The stores can use the SAP Retail Store to display the allocation tables relevant to them and report requested quantities.

In this case sites can enter the requested quantities directly in the system. In the separate transaction existing for replying in this way, the system only suggests data to each individual site relevant to it.

For further information on replying using SAP Retail Store, see Allocation in SAP Retail Store (LO-SRS).

The sites have no direct access to the central R/3 system. In this case, they have to phone in or fax the quantities they request to the head office, where the data is then entered in the system. The user entering the data can either use the transaction to reply for a single site or the transaction to reply for several sites.

Alternatively, the sites can report their requested quantities to the head office by EDI. The standard system contains the IDoc WALREQ01 for replying by EDI.
