Parameters
Here you define the control parameters for the
Product Cost Controlling Information System.
- Display Fields for Order
Selection
Here you select the
master data fields that you want to use as display fields in the results list
of order selection. The structure of the results list of order selection is
determined by a layout. The standard system contains layouts predefined by
SAP. If you want to create your own layouts so that you can add other master
data fields to the results list, you must first select these fields in
Customizing. You can use fields from the order master record, the order
header, and the order item of manufacturing orders. For performance reasons,
you should only choose the fields that you actually need, since all fields
that are available for the definition of layouts must be read from the
database when the orders are selected.
- Display Fields for Cost
Display/Itemization
Here you select the
master data fields that you want to use as display fields in the results list
of the cost display and the itemization. The structure of the results list of
the cost display and itemization is determined by a layout. The standard
system contains layouts predefined by SAP. If you want to create your own
layouts so that you can add other master data fields to the results list, you
must first select these fields in Customizing. You can use fields from the
material master, cost center master, and business process master. For
performance reasons, you should only choose the fields that you actually need,
since all fields that are available for the definition of layouts must be read
from the database for the cost display and itemization.
If you use product
drilldown reporting, you can specify a
cost component structure that breaks down the cost components
into cost elements. This cost component structure does not split costs, but
only serves to show all the cost elements in it in the information system.
This cost component split is also used in cost analysis.
When assigning the
cost component structure, note that you can also assign the results analysis
cost elements for
work in process to individual cost components. Check your cost
component structure. If you don't assign the results analysis cost elements,
the work in process will be reported as not assigned.
You can also specify
a
product group type if you want to analyze key figures within the
product drilldown on the basis of values summarized at the product group
level. For more information on summarization at the product group level, refer
to the SAP Library under CO-PC Information System.
You specify order
types on which data collection in product drilldown reporting is to be
performed.
You can specify
whether control costs are updated. For more information on control costs,
refer to the SAP Library in the period-end closing area of Product Cost by
Period and Product Cost by Order.
The
Shared indicator controls whether users can define shared
layouts (layouts that are available to all users). If this indicator is
selected, users can save new layouts so that they are accessible to all users.
If this indicator is not selected, new layouts are only available to the users
that created them. You should select this indicator during system
implementation so that you can create the required layouts centrally.
Afterwards, deselect the indicator to prevent users from creating shared
layouts.
The indicators
Flexible itemization, Flexible cost
component report, and Flexible cost
display enable you to specify that when the itemization, cost
element report or cost display is accessed from a cost estimate (such as a
material cost estimate, a preliminary cost estimate for a manufacturing order,
or a product cost estimate or unit cost estimate for a sales order item), you
always get the flexible itemization, the flexible cost component report, or
the flexible cost display. If an indicator is not selected, predefined Report
Writer reports are displayed instead.

order types for product drilldown reporting.
Activities
- Report Call
Select the indicators Flexibler itemzation,
Flexible cost component report, or Flexible cost
display if you want to access these reports from the
corresponding object (such as a material cost estimate, preliminary cost
estimate for a manufacturing order, or product cost estimate or unit cost
estimate for a sales order item).
- Product Drilldown
If you want to use summarized analysis with product drilldown reporting in
Cost Object Controlling, make the appropriate settings here. In this case,
check the order types that are summarized in a data collection run, and modify
them if necessary. Also specify a product group type if you intend to
summarize data at the product group level.
- Layouts
If you want to allow users to create shared layouts, select the
Shared indicator.
- Display Fields for Order Selection
Select the fields that you want to use as display fields in the results list
of order selection.
- Display Fields for Cost
Display/Itemization
Select the fields that you want to use as display fields in the results list
of the cost display and itemization.
- If you want to update control costs, select
the corresponding indicator.
