Define
User-Defined Message Types
In this step you can change the default message
type for certain messages.
The following message types are available in
the system:
- Information message (message type
"I")
- Warning message (message type "W")
- Error message (message type "E")
- Termination message (message type
"A")
The message type can only be changed for the
messages that are displayed in the user-defined error management for the
respective function (For example "Preliminary Costing of Product Cost
Collectors" or "WIP Calculation and Results Analysis"). You can specify the
message type for some messages. For other messages a minimum message type is
defined. Also, for some messages, you can specify that the message is no
longer displayed. To do this, set the the message type " " (blank).
Example
The following example is from the user-defined
error management of Product Cost Planning:
There is no minimum message type for the
message CK 037 "Lot size & & transferred from the costing
view".
- If you set the message type to " " (Blank),
the message is not displayed in the log.
- If you set the message type to "I"
(Information), the message is displayed in the log. The cost estimate receives
the status "calculated".
- If you set the message type to "E" (Error),
the cost estimate receives the status "With errors" after the message is
issued and cannot be marked and released. .
The minimum message type is "I" (Information)
for the message CK 065 "The activity type & in controlling area &
cannot be allocated".
- If the message type is "I" (Information), the
message is displayed in the log. The cost estimate receives the status
"Costed" and can be marked and released.
- If you set the message type to "E" (Error),
the cost estimate receives the status "With errors" after the message is
issued and cannot be marked and released.
- You cannot set the message type " " (Blank)
for this message.
