The data transfer specialist organizes the transfer of data from legacy systems to the R/3 System.
To do this, the following tasks must be performed:
- Functional mapping of business objects in the legacy system to the R/3 target system
- Analysis of the data structures in the legacy system and the R/3 System
- Definition of assignments between data structures in the legacy system and the R/3 target system
- Development of proprietary programs for data extraction, conversion, and loading and checking data
- Selection of tools from SAP Complementary Software Program partners, for data extraction, conversion, and loading and checking data
- Testing of the data transfer programs
- Planning of the transitional phase
- Execution of data transfer
- Checking and subsequent release of transferred data
