Use

To enable SAP Fiori, ensure that the relevant back-end and front-end components are available in your system landscape.

Database

Some SAP Fiori products containing transactional apps can be installed based on anyDB, other SAP Fiori products require an SAP HANA database as an installation basis. The database requirement of an SAP Fiori product depends on the database requirements of the corresponding SAP Business Suite product.

ABAP Back-End Server

The product version required for the SAP NetWeaver installation on the back-end server depends on the requirements of the respective SAP Business Suite product and its required database:

Respective SAP Business Suite product

See the installation information in the documentation of the respective SAP Fiori product.
ABAP Front-End Server

On your front-end server, the following components have to be installed:

  • SAP NetWeaver components
  • SAP Gateway components
  • Central UI components

Depending on your SAP NetWeaver version, there are different procedures for the other components:

  • If you run SAP NetWeaver 7.31 on your front-end server, you have to install the listed components.

  • If you run SAP NetWeaver 7.4 or 7.5 on your front-end server, the listed components are automatically installed with your SAP NetWeaver installation. Verify that they are in place.

SAP NetWeaver 7.31, 7.4, or 7.5 with SAP UI 2.0

You require SAP Fiori front-end server 2.0. Depending on the SAP NetWeaver version, it contains the following components with the respective versions:

Front-end server based on SAP NetWeaver 7.4 or 7.5:

  • SAP NetWeaver Gateway Foundation (software component SAP NW GATEWAY FOUNDATION)

  • User Interface Technology (software component USER INTERFACE TECHNOLOGY)

  • SAP UI Frontend Implementation Technology (software component SAPUIFT)

  • UI for Basis Applications (software component UI FOR BASIS APPLICATIONS), containing SAP NetWeaver Fiori apps (SAP NetWeaver 7.5, only)

Front-end server based on SAP NetWeaver 7.31:

  • SAP Gateway 2.0 (product version SAP GATEWAY 2.0)

  • UI add-on 2.0 for SAP NetWeaver (product version UI ADD-ON 2.0)

SAP NetWeaver 7.4 with SAP UI 1.0

If you run SAP NetWeaver 7.4 on your front-end server, the listed components are automatically installed with your SAP NetWeaver installation. Verify that they are in place.

SAP Gateway component:

The component for the SAP Gateway foundation is included in the SAP NetWeaver 7.4 installation (SAP NetWeaver 7.4 (AS ABAP) or SAP NetWeaver 7.4 for Suite (AS ABAP)). Verify that it is in place.

Comprised component version:

SAP NW GATEWAY FOUNDATION (SAP_GWFND) SP 10

(As of SAP NetWeaver 7.4, the components GW_CORE, IW_FND and IW_BEP are replaced by this new software component for the SAP Gateway foundation.)

Central UI component:

The component for the SAP UI is included in the SAP NetWeaver 7.4 installation (SAP NetWeaver 7.4 (AS ABAP) or SAP NetWeaver 7.4 for Suite (AS ABAP)). Verify that it is in place.

Comprised component version:

USER INTERFACE TECHNOLOGY 7.40 (SAP_UI 740) SP 12

SAP NetWeaver 7.31 with SAP UI 1.0

If you run SAP NetWeaver 7.31 on your front-end server, you have to install the listed components:
