Printing BEx Objects
Use
You can broadcast BEx objects (queries, query views, Web templates and reports) to a printer.
BEx Broadcaster generates a spool request and sends it to the selected output device to print.
Prerequisites
You selected Broadcast to Printer as the distribution type when creating the broadcast setting.
Procedure
Defining the Output Format
Select the required output format.
You can select one of the following output formats:
- Print Format (PS or PCL)
The document is generated in the suitable format for the output device: PostScript (PS) or Printer Control Language (PCL)
- Portable Document Format (PDF)
BEx Broadcaster generates a PDF file.
Defining Print Specifications
Make the following settings on the Print Specifications tab page:
- Printer: Select the output device from which you want to print the document.
You can only select devices that support the specified output format (PS, PCL, or PDF).
- Authorized User: If you schedule the broadcast setting in the background (for example for a certain time), you can enter a BW user name either manually or using the
Selection.
The system generates the document with the settings (date format for example) and authorizations of the specified user.
- Language: If you schedule the broadcast setting for background processing (for a specific time for example), you can select the language that the document will be generated in.
The system offers you a choice of the languages that are installed in the BW system.
If you want to distribute the broadcast setting immediately, the system generates the document using the logon language of the current user who is logged on to the system and who defined the broadcast setting.
Making General Settings for the Precalculation
