Event Subscription

Use

Using this function, the SAP system can subscribe to events of an OPC Alarms/Events server. The SAP system is then informed automatically as soon as an event occurred in the OPC server.

Prerequisites

  • You have installed the SAP ODA Connector on the target host.

    For more information, see Installation and Deinstallation of the SAP ODA Connector .

  • You have made the settings for SAP ODA in Customizing for the SAP system.

    To do so, you go to Customizing for Production Planning – Process Industries and execute the activities listed under SAP ODA .

Features

With Alarms/Events subscriptions, you can define filters in Customizing for the SAP system to reduce the number of events to be received. You can only define the filter criteria that are also supported by the AE servers you use.
