Monitoring the Deadlines AutomaticallyThe deadline monitoring function consists of a report that allows you to:
Monitor the test dates for one or more testing schedules
Create inspection lots for impending test dates
Update the scheduling process
If you want to start the deadline monitoring function at regular intervals, you must predefine the selection criteria for executing this report in a report variant. In addition, you must plan a background job to specify when or in what intervals the report should be run as a batch job.
You can also run this report for deadline monitoring manually as described in the procedure below, if for example:
You want to create the call objects earlier than the batch job can do it
You changed the scheduling period in the testing schedule (for example, the stability study will be conducted longer than originally planned), and you now want to update the test dates.
From the
SAP Easy Access
menu, choose
.
The initial screen for deadline monitoring appears.
Enter the data for the maintenance plans or strategies for which the system should monitor the deadlines.
Select
Call transaction
(batch input).
The
Call Transaction
mode is proposed by the system.
Enter the value
N
for the
Call mode
, if not already proposed by the system (ensures that the transaction will be run in the background).
Note
You can also select the BDC session mode, however, the system will then only create a batch input session and no calls will be created or test dates updated. To accomplish this, you must execute the BCD session separately from this operation.
Start the program by choosing .
The system generates test dates or inspection lots for the selected maintenance plan(s).
Note
The test dates are normally confirmed automatically (by means of a follow-up action for the usage decision) when you complete the stability tests.
