Defining Applications
With this part of the whitelist you can define which applications are allowed to be used to execute files.
Procedure
- Ensure that you are in the "Change File Enhancement" View: Overview view.
- Select the first line of the table File Enhancement in the table and then open the folder Application with a double-click. You reach the "Change Application" Screen: Overview screen.
- Choose the button New Entries (F5) first.
- Position your cursor in the upper table field of the Whitelist column and press the F4 button to open the input help. As you had already selected the whitelist in the previous steps, you now just get a select list offered to you in this step. Select the list and close the selection dialog box.
- Enter a name of your choice for the application that is to be linked, as well as the storage path of the application:
- Save your entries using the Save(Ctrl + S) button.
In the next step you can define the selections with regard to the different (possible) transfer parameters of the application. As long as you do not make any other settings for the possible parameters, these are not checked when the program is executed. Stored parameter settings therefore cause further restrictions when permitting program executions.
The assignment of which file types are permitted to be executed with which permitted programs takes place automatically.
If you want to make specific settings for certain parameters, proceed with Defining Parameters.
