Copying Variables from a ClientYou can only use this function if you are copying variables from/to clients that exist in the same system. If the variables you want to copy are stored in a different system than the one to which you want to copy, you must use the export and import functions.

Enter the source client, the variable(s) that you want to copy, and additional selection criteria, as required.
The data you enter determines the data that is copied from the source client to the client in which you are working.
Set the indicators in the

group box, as required:

Copy without selection list
, the variables are exported immediately.
– If you select
Copy with dependent objects
, the variables are copied with their dependent objects.
Beginning with Release 3.1G, CO groups (such as cost center groups, cost element groups, profit center groups, and so on) are no longer transported as dependent objects. For example, if you are copying a set variable that uses a CO group as the default set, the CO group is not copied to the target client. If you want to copy CO groups to another client, you do so in a separate step using the set or hierarchy maintenance functions.

, the system automatically copies the variables from the source client to the client in which you are working, according to the criteria you entered on the
Copy Variables From Source Client
screen.

, the system lists all variables from the source client that meet the criteria you entered on the
