Postprocessing Synchronization Runs

Purpose

With this process you can analyze incorrect synchronization runs using the Postprocessing Office (PPO), process the errors and restart the synchronization.

Process

  1. Start the postprocessing. To do this, choose an incorrect synchronization run on the tab page Monitor , and call up the PPO.

The system goes to the PPO and displays all the PPO orders for the selected synchronization run.

  2. You analyze the PPO orders and make the necessary corrections (for example, to the master data objects or the Customizing settings).

  3. Start an individual synchronization or a mass synchronization in the detail screen of the PPO order.

The system starts a new synchronization run and changes the current status of the PPO order to Completed.

However, the system does not change the status of the synchronization run from which the PPO was originally started. The original synchronization run still has the status Incorrect. By means of the list of all PPO orders and their statuses, you can however recognize to what extent the synchronization run has already been corrected.

  4. You check the progress and the status of the new synchronization run in the synchronization cockpit on the tab page Monitor .

If the new synchronization run is incorrect (status: The synchronization process has been completed. Errors have occurred), this means that more errors have occurred during synchronization, and you can restart the process.

If the synchronization run is free of errors (status: The synchronization process has been completed. No errors occurred), this means that the process has been completed and the master data objects have been successfully synchronized.
