Line managers, project leads, and other authorized persons can use this Web application to approve or reject the working times recorded using the Cross-Application Time Sheet
(CATS). The Web application supports periodic data approval. It replaces or enhances the workflow-based approval of working times.
Note
This application has been developed for the software component EA-HR. Subsequent enhancements and corrections to the software are available in HR Support Packages.
The application is part of the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP).
You can use this Web application as an alternative to the RCATS*01 reports ( Time Sheet: Approve Times
and RCATS_APPROVE_ACTIVITIES ( Approve Working Times
). This means that you can provide the approvers in your enterprise with an application that is incorporated in the Manager Self-Service, Project Self-Service,
or an alternative manager portal.
Note
For more information, see Business Package for Manager Self-Service and Confirming Tasks .
You can use this Web application to approve all time sheet data recorded by employees in the various CATS user interfaces. You therefore do not need to implement the Employee Self-Service application for the time sheet ( CATS regular/Record Working Times (Web Dynpro) ) to be able to approve data from it in this Web application.
The Web application is designed to simplify and accelerate approval of recorded working times. You can therefore group data in Customizing according to collective approval criteria and then carry out a mass approval. You can also approve this data individually.
Technically, the application consists of two services, which you can use independently of one another. For more information, see Connection of the Web Applications to the Portal .
You can restrict the quantity of working times to be approved by defining only particular working times that meet particular criteria as subject to approval. For more information, see Special Approval .
You use SAP Cross-Application Time Sheet
(CATS).
You have set up the approval service in Customizing. For more information, see the Implementation Guide for the Cross-Application Time Sheet
and choose
In the back-end system, approvers can use the approval reports to change the recorded working times. This function is not available in the Web application.
