Checking User Classification

Context

You can use the Classification Help function to check your user classification (as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0).

On the basis of this user data, the Classification Help function provides lists of users that access functions and objects that they may not be permitted to use in accordance with their classification. You can use the list to check the classification of the listed users. As soon as you are satisfied with the classification of the users, you can perform the measurement again, and then transfer the measurement results as usual. The user lists are anonymized when this is done; that is, the data is transferred to SAP without the user names.

Classification Help provides you with the following options for checking your user classification:

Function

Additional Notes

Workbench user

Displays a list of the users that were stored as the last to change source code in the last twelve months.

Professional/Limited Professional user

Displays a list of users that are classified either as employees or as ESS users, and that have made changes to tables that do not relate to self-services.

Role inheritance

Displays a list of the users to which classified roles are assigned.

Mobile Engine Users

Displays a list of the users that use mobile applications.

Procedure

  1. In the measurement program (transaction USMM), choose User Data Analysis.

On the Existing Measurement Data dialog box, the system displays a table of the previous measurements performed, with number, date, and time of the relevant measurement. The most up-to-date measurement is at the top of the table.

  2. To remove superfluous data from the classification help, choose Delete.

  3. Select the measurement to be checked, and choose the desired list option on the Classification Help tab page, such as User Workbench.

Results

The results list in each case shows the users with the properties described in the table above. The user names are specified for internal use in your organization, so that you can investigate these anomalies and, if necessary, reclassify the relevant users.

The Workbench Users, Professional/Limited Professional Users, and Mobile Engine Users lists are included in anonymized form in both the measurement statistics and the measurement log.
