SAP Installation

Definition

Combination of SAP systems, which must be installed on homogeneous platforms (database, operating system, and hardware)

An SAP installation consists of SAP systems, usually production, test, and training or development systems. A maximum of eight production systems can be operated under one installation. If you have any additional production systems, you must request a new installation from your SAP contracts department.

The customer must register a separate installation in writing with SAP for each software product. SAP will then give you a unique installation number.
