Adding and Editing Content in Freestyle Roles and Worksets
Prerequisites
All content objects to be added to the role or workset are available in the portal or can be uploaded from a back-end system.
Context
You use the Freestyle Role and Workset editors to:
Build the structure hierarchy of the role or workset
Assign content objects to the role or workset, as delta links or as copies
Preview the navigation structure of the role or workset
Procedure
Open the new role or workset:
For roles, from the What's Next screen of the New Role wizard, choose the Content and Structure link in the Edit list. For worksets, from the Choose your next step screen of the New Workset wizard, choose Open the object for editing and click OK .
In the context menu of the object in the Portal Catalog, choose OpenRole or OpenWorkset, as applicable.
The Role or Workset editor opens, accordingly.
Create the content structure:
Use the New button in the <Object> Content area to create new folders, adding the Name in the Create New Folder dialog box.
Add iViews, pages, worksets, and roles, as appropriate, either directly to the role or workset, or in the created folders.
Select the row of the folder to which you want to add the content object.
Use the New button to create a new page or iView (you can use the iView from Remote source option to upload an iView from a back-end system or other external repository).
You can use the Open button above the structure to open each added object in its editor and to define its own contents. Use the breadcrumb above the open editor to return to the role or workset.
Use the <Object> Content buttons to define your final content structure.

Specify which node is to be displayed as a navigation entry point
In the row of the node, select the checkbox in the Entry Point column.
Specify the nodes that are visible in the navigation hierarchy.
In the relevant row, select the checkbox in the Visible column.
This is useful when creating a wizard, for example, where you need to see each page to create your object. However, at runtime, there is no need to access any individual page in a wizard when navigating from the navigation panel. Therefore, the individual pages can be set to invisible (deselecting the checkbox) so that they are not seen separately in the navigation iViews.
View the sort priority of objects in the Role and Workset editors.
An asterisk after the value in the Merge column indicates that the Merge ID property has not been set for the object. To view a merge ID, hover the cursor over the value.
You can see the navigation structure as appears at runtime in the Navigation Structure Preview area at the right. Changes made in the Merge and Visible columns are reflected in the preview.
View remote content (roles only).
You can see a list of the remote content, such as SAP Fiori catalogs and SAP Fiori groups, assigned to the role. The list appears in the Remote Content table under the Navigation Structure Preview area at the right.
Hovering over a remote content folder lets you see the object ID and the assigned portal categories.
To adjust or change the role or workset properties , choose the Properties link in the link bar. This opens the Properties editor for the object. For more information, see Editing Role and Workset Properties .
To define permissions to the role, choose the Permissions link. This opens the Permissions editor for the object. For more information about permissions, see Setting Permissions in the Permissions Editor .
Once your role content is complete, you need to assign the role to users and user groups. Users can only access the content intended for them if they are assigned to a role. Worksets cannot be assigned to users. For more information, see Assigning Portal Roles to Users and Groups .
