Enabling Remote Support

Use

If you want to allow an SAP support consultant to work remotely in your system to assist in problem diagnosis, or if you want to use SAP remote services, you need to set up a remote service connection.

SAP EP provides a built-in Support role that enables read-only access for support purposes. The role is located under the Start of the navigation pathPortal Content Next navigation step Content Provided by SAP Next navigation step Admin Content Next navigation step SupportEnd of the navigation path folder in the Portal Catalog and you can assign it to a user immediately after installing SAP EP with the default content. The Support role enables read-only browsing of the following areas:

  • JNDI

  • PCD

  • Portal Registry

  • Security Zone

  • Client Framework Environment configurations
