Viewing Activity Reporting Status

Use

The portal comes with a status iView that displays the following information about the data collection and aggregation:

  • First and last time the raw data for the portal activity report was aggregated

  • Current settings for the data collection service

These are the same settings displayed for the portal activity report application on the Service Configuration page. For more information about the Service Configuration page and configuring the portal activity report application, see Configuring the Data Collection Service .

The iView is designed to enable user and content administrators, who generally do not have access to the Service Configuration page, to view information about the portal activity report application.

iView Information

The status iView is based on the ActivityReportServiceViewer portal component of the com.sap.portal.activityreport.serviceviewer PAR.

The status iView, along with preconfigured portal activity report iViews, are bundled together for the following roles:

  • Content Administrator: Go to Start of the navigation pathContent Administration Next navigation step Content Statistics Next navigation step Activity Reports.End of the navigation path

  • User Administrator: Go to Start of the navigation pathUser Administration Next navigation step User Statistics Next navigation step Activity Reports.End of the navigation path

  • System Administrator: Go to Start of the navigation pathSystem Administration Next navigation step Content Statistics Next navigation step  Activity Reports.End of the navigation path

Displaying the Status of Anonymous Users

When an anonymous user logs on to the portal, the hourly aggregation of data saves the logon in the database, with a name generated from a concatenation of the string guest plus < session ID >, thus adding a record to the database for each anonymous logon. When data is aggregated at the end of the day, the log-on data is consolidated and recorded, replacing the named format, in the database as an integer representing the number of unique anonymous logons during the aggregation period. It is this number that appears in the status iView.
