Uploading Roles from Packages

Prerequisites

You or a System Administrator has downloaded business packages from SAP Business Suite.

Context

The Role from Package option - accessed from the context menu of the folder that you select to contain it - enables you to upload roles from Business Suite packages that have been downloaded to the portal.

You can filter the list of available roles by business package, by role name, or by current use in the Portal Catalog. When you upload the selected role, it is added to the destination folder in the Portal Catalog.

Procedure

  1. In the Portal Catalog, in the context menu of the folder that will contain the uploaded role, choose Start of the navigation pathNew Next navigation step Role Next navigation step Role from PackageEnd of the navigation path. The Role from Package editor appears. The Available Roles from Packages table lists - by default - all roles that have been uploaded in SAP business packages.
  2. You can filter the displayed list of roles as follows:

    • In the Filter field, enter a role name or mask (no need to use asterisks), and choose Go .

    • Use the options of the Show Roles button: Used displays all roles that have already been uploaded to the Portal Catalog, and Not Used shows all roles that have not yet been uploaded.

    • From the Business Package list at the left, select the row of the package to upload.

  3. Choose the Add to <Folder Name> button at the top left.
