Status Maintenance
Use
Status indicators are used to track changes in the terminology database. Superusers set status indicators separately for each term and for each language, in order to indicate the review status of a specific term.
Prerequisites
The status indicators apply to a term entry according to the following criteria.

Criteria |
|---|---|---|
|
1 |
|
The term was entered in the terminology database. It has not been reviewed and given official sanction as an SAP term in the relevant language. The term is to be used guardedly. |
|

|
There are two scenarios:
The term is to be used guardedly. |
|
3 |
|
The term meets the quality standards for SAP terminology:
The term is to be used without reservation. |
|
4 |
|
The term is not part of the SAPterm database for one or more of the following reasons:
The term is not to be used under any circumstances. Terms set to status 4 will be deleted four weeks from the date they were given this status as long as the administrator has configured and scheduled the deletion report in the system. |
Features
Terms may have differing statuses in different languages. A source language term can have status 1 (
New) and the target language term can have status 3 (
Released). This reflects the different work cycles of the various workgroups. However, it is better if the term is released in the source language first because the entry is officially only provisional until released.
