Finding Terms

Use

There are two different ways of searching for terms in SAPterm.

SAPterm’s basic search and advanced search support several methods for finding terms and strings entered in the Term field.

  • Searching from the initial screen of SAPterm (basic search)

This is a simple search method where the system looks through the table keys of the terminology database. These table keys are stored in uppercase, which means that the search is not case-sensitive, and does not consider special characters.

The basic search finds all term variants including, for example, rejected terms, synonyms, and invalid spellings.

  • Searching using Advanced Search

This search method enables you to define further criteria, for example, if you only want to search for terms within a specific component, or terms created by a specific user. This search is case-sensitive, and can distinguish special characters.

The advanced search finds only the terms within the additional selection parameters.
