Setting Mandatory Texts in SAPterm

Purpose

SAPterm requires mandatory field values to be filled in (such as the term, the subject field/component, and the source) before allowing a source term entry to be created.

Most of these mandatory requirements are hardcoded in SAPterm and cannot be deactivated. Several text fields are mandatory at the discretion of the SAPterm administrator.

  • Definitions and contexts

When creating a source term entry, either a definition or a context is mandatory to save the term entry at status 1/new. To set the source term entry to status 3/released, the definition is always mandatory.

  • Entry notes for term entries pending deletion

When deleting a source term entry and all target language terms, an entry note is mandatory to set status 4/pending deletion.
