ILM Database Store (New)

SAP's own ILM Database Store for data retention contains new functions.

Simplified Initial Client Configuration

When setting up the ILM Database Store, you need to differentiate between operative and administrative Customizing. With operative Customizing, you control how the data is processed, whereas administrative Customizing contains all of the required settings that enable you to process data with the ILM Database store. For administrative Customizing, you now have views that make the editing of Customizing settings easier. You can use these to perform the following tasks:

  • Creating an administrative Origin
  • Client entry in the ILM Database Store for Administrative Customizing
  • Assigning clients and administrative Origins
  • Assigning operative Origins to administrative Origins

You use the administrative Origin so that you can change Customizing settings in the ILM Database Store. At the same time, the Customizing settings for the administrative Origin are also the default values for non-defined settings in the operative Origins, which are assigned to this administrative Origin.
