What's New in UI Theme Designer

Several new or changed features are available with UI theme designer 1.4.

Saving Themes (Changed)

The Theme menu now offers the following additional entries:
  • Save
  • Save as
These two functions only store the LESS files that define your theme. The theme will appear in the theme list on the start screen and you can open it to make further adjustments to it. However, in order for your theme to be applied to an application, the CSS files have to be built from the LESS files. To build and save the CSS files for your theme, you choose Save&Build.

Usability Improvements (New)

  • The initial screen is now displayed as full screen rather than as a popup.
  • The Theme menu now offers a Close option, which allows you to navigate back to the initial screen. If you have any unsaved changes, a dialog box will offer you to save or dicard your changes.
  • The info page on the initial screen now displays information on the status of a theme:
    Theme is a read-only SAP standard theme This status is used to separate SAP standard themes from custom themes.

    If you select this theme and choose Open, a copy of the original SAP standard theme will be created and opened for editing.
    Theme has not yet been built Only the LESS files defining this theme were saved. In order for this theme to be applied to an application, the CSS files have to be built from the LESS files using the Start of the navigation pathTheme Next navigation step Save&BuildEnd of the navigation path function.
    Theme has been changed since last build If you want the last changes made to this theme to be visible when you apply this theme, choose Start of the navigation pathTheme Next navigation step Save&BuildEnd of the navigation path.

  • The usability of the parameter list was improved. Changed parameters are marked with bold font. The (Options) icon is now only displayed on hover.

Performance Improvements (New)

The performance of image uploads was improved.
