Privileged Logon (New)

You can now prevent users from logging on to SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) ABAP. You determine whether you block all users or only allow a specific group of users.

Privileged logon is useful for locking out users when you are performing system maintenance. You have the option to lock out all users or to only allow users, who have a specific security policy setting, to log on. Users who are already logged on are unaffected.

To achieve this, there is a new dynamic profile parameter, login/server_logon_restriction. You set the blocking mode with this parameter. If you want to allow only privileged access to SAP NetWeaver AS for ABAP, there is a new security policy attribute, SERVER_LOGON_PRIVILEGE. When the server is in privileged mode, only users with this attribute in their security policy can log on.
