Data Aging (New)

Data aging offers you the option of moving large amounts of data within a database in order to gain more working memory. The application moves this data from the hot area to the cold area.

The data is moved in accordance with the data temperature that has been set for it. This influences the visibility of the data when it is accessed. SAP applications can modify this visibility. Data that is not of great relevance because of its age, sporadic access, or low importance for current business processes, can be moved to another data area that is not used in queries, thus gaining memory capacity.
