In a data warehouse, data can be classified using the following categories based on access frequency: hot, warm, cold. SAP HANA dynamic tiering enables you to separate the memory areas for hot data and warm data by generating the BW tables for warm data as "extended tables". No main memory is needed in SAP HANA to persist the data.
