Short Texts in Queries (New)

The BW system enables you to use characteristics of a suitable InfoProvider as key figures in the query definition, in order to change characteristic values (for example, classifications) in queries or to write comments (short texts) on key figure values in queries.

The implementation of this technical option is used to assist with manual planning for BW-integrated planning: you need a write-optimized DataStore object to store the entries that you make for the characteristics used as key figures. Actual data and plan data can be stored in an InfoCube, for example. A MultiProvider that an aggregation level is defined on is best-suited for data integration. The aggregation level acts as an InfoProvider for the input-ready query, which handles the characteristics (used as key figures) as key figures.
