Type, Threshold Value, and Target Value of Key Figure

You define a type for each key figure. The type of a key figure can be positive, negative, or bidirectional (in both directions). To evaluate the key figure, you must create a target value for each key figure. This target value always lies in the green area.

Note the following color scale that shows the correlation between the increasing key figure value and the key figure status:

You define threshold values for each key figure; when the value is reached, the status of the key figure switches to another color area. (These threshold values are marked by numbers in the diagram.)

You also define a target value for each key figure. This value is the ideal value, and is located in the green area of the color scales displayed above.

The status of a key figure depends on these threshold values in the portal. The symbols , , and show you what status the key figure has and depend on the threshold and target values that you defined. The symbol shows that no value has yet been calculated for the key figure.

Note Note

Note that the key figure status will change when the threshold value has been reached. A positive key figure has status Yellow if the key figure value is larger or equal than the threshold value 1. A positive key figure also has status Green if the key figure value is larger than or equal to the threshold value 2.

End of the note.
Examples

Positive key figure : The greater the value, the better the key figure. An example of this type of key figure is a company’s profits.

Negative key figure : The lower the value, the better the key figure. An example of this type of key figure is the number of sick days in a specific period or time.

Bidirectional key figure : The value becomes worse if it deviates too much from the target value in either direction of the scale. An example of this type of key figure is the temperature for storing a specific material. If the temperature sinks too far below a certain value, it is just as critical as exceeding a certain temperature value.
