Function documentationManage Work Environments

This function lets you make all settings, which you require for the management of work environments, views and variants, directly on the Clinical Work Station. You can also assign work environments to users and roles.

Prerequisites

These functions are only available if an authorization belonging to the authorization object N_VM_DEF has been assigned to the user.

Features

To facilitate the system administrator’s job, predefined work environments and views are provided in the standard system. You can use these views as templates for defining your own (customer-specific) views.

Activities

To call the function, in the Clinical Work Station, choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Manage Work Environments End of the navigation path. This will open a list which contains all work environments defined in the current client.

This dialog box makes the following functions available to you:

New Assignment

When you select a work environment, and then choose New Assignments, the Create Assignment to Work Environment appears for you to assign a work environment to one or more users or a role.

You can make * entries in the User field.

You can assign the work environment to:

  • A user: enter the user ID in the User field

  • All users generically: enter * in the User field

  • To a role: select the role from the value help, and enter * in the User field

After logging off, the next time you use the Clinical Work Station, this work environment is available to you for the relevant users or roles.

Selection Logic

  • If work environments are not maintained, the standard work environment (SAP_WFIELD) provided with the shipment is displayed for all users.

  • If work environments are assigned to users, the system only displays work environments directly assigned to the users.

  • If work environments are defined for roles, the system displays these in addition to the work environments that are directly assigned to the user.

Work environments for which the User field contains * are displayed for all users to whom a work environment is not explicitly assigned.

Delete Row (Delete Row)

When you select a work environment, and then choose Delete Row (Delete Row), you delete the work environment even if it is a work environment personalized by another user.

When you select an assigned view and choose Delete Row (Delete Row), you delete the assignment of the view to the work environment.
