Displaying Event Information in Medication Graph Depending on Zoom Factors
The system displays event information for saved, active, inactive and ended orders in the content area of the medication graph. The quantity of displayed event information depends on the selected zoom factor. The further you expand the graph, the more information the graph displays.
For Smart Chart to display a medication graph, the following conditions must be satisfied:
You created chart elements in Customizing for the medication
data source and combined them in a chart layout.
For more information, see Create a Medication Graph.
When you launched Smart Chart you selected a chart layout that also contains the graph for displaying medication events.
The system displays the runtime of an order in all zoom factors with a highlighted line at the edge of the cell of the order. The system displays the runtime of orders, which have not yet been activated, with a dashed line and with a gray drug description.
To receive further information on the runtime of an order, call the quick info text for the corresponding line section.
The system displays deviations from the quantity to be administered and from the time for administration determined in the order with the following warning icons for each event:
Icon | Description |
|---|---|
| Order has not yet been administered. |

|
Further information on deviation can be found in the corresponding quick info text.
Note
The system only signalizes time-related deviations with a warning icon if the corresponding drug is stored as time-critical in the drug master and the corresponding tolerance time has been exceeded.
Note
Note that the system displays deviations for in the minimum display bundled by day.
If the selected time period focus includes orders for which no events exist, the system displays the date of the last and/or next ordered event for each order. If you select the date, you toggle to the event.
The graph displays the following order-related information depending on the selected zoom factor:
Minimum display
For longer time periods such as Weeks
or Months
the graph displays for each order the line to indicate the runtime, the dosage and, in case of deviations, the reference icon of the most critical deviation within the corresponding grid.
From a zoom factor with a day reference, and with sufficient available space in each grid, Smart Chart displays the treatment days (if stored in Customizing) as well as the daily doses and the flow rates for infusion orders.
Maximum display
In this zoom factor the graph displays individual administration events of the order as follows:
The system displays time-specific events, such as table administration, as a diamond. The system displays the administered events in highlighted form.
The system displays time period-specific events, such as infusions, as bars.
In case of continuous infusions, the system displays the administration information graphically, by filling the bars with the relevant administration information. For each administered event of continuous infusions the system fills the hollow bar with the corresponding time period. The individual flow rates are separated from each other by a vertical line.
The system displays paused orders with a shaded background.
The system displays pauses in the flow rate plan of continual infusions with "~“ within the order concerned.
Note
Note that pauses in the flow rate plan and pauses in orders can occur in combination with each other or independently of each other.
Quick info texts with further information are available for each event.
